Interim Report: CPSC 881 Literature Survey

This document provides a survey of literature ranging from parallel file systems to system modeling and simulation. This background research is being conducted in order facilitate an investigation into the plausibility of modeling the Parallel Virtual File System (PVFS). The goal is to determine what kind of work has been done is this area, while discovering potential dissertation-level topics and research foci.
